Semen Ivanovich Pleshko (1903-1957) - Soviet scientist (agronomist and livestock specialist), academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Tajik SSR .

Born on August 16 (29), 1903 in Ukraine in the village of Baksha, Odessa province, in a poor peasant family.

Graduated from Poltava Agricultural Institute (1927). He worked in research institutions of the Central Black Earth Region (1931-1934), Karelia (1935-1936), the Moldavian Autonomous Soviet Socialist Republic (1936-1939), and the North Caucasus Territory. In 1939 he defended his thesis.

Since 1940 in the Tajik SSR. Director (1944-1946), Head. feed preparation sector (1946-1953) of the Institute of Livestock Production of the Tajik Branch of the Academy of Sciences of the USSR (since 1951 Academy of Sciences of the Tajik SSR). Since 1953, Academic Secretary of the Department of Natural Sciences of the Academy of Sciences of Taj. SSR.

Doctor of Agricultural Sciences (1949). Academician of the Academy of Sciences of the Tajik SSR (1951, specialty - feed production).

The main scientific works are devoted to the study of feed resources of Tajikistan, the testing and implementation of new feed crops.

• Feed of Tajikistan, Stalinabad, 1957 (Proceedings of the Institute of Livestock Production of the Academy of Sciences of the Tajik SSR, v. 34);

He was awarded two orders of the Badge of Honor, medals, and Certificates of Honor of the Presidium of the Supreme Council of Taj. SSR.

He died in Dushanbe on May 12, 1957 after a long and serious illness.
