The Church of St. Demetrius ( Bulgarian. Sv. Dimitar ) is an Orthodox church of the Bulgarian Orthodox Church , located in the eastern part of Kyustendil .

History
The church in the name of the holy great martyr Dimitri Solunsky was built in Kyustendil in on the initiative of the local teacher at the expense of wealthy citizens, artisans, teachers, representatives of the clergy. Also in 1865, a school was opened at the church, called Dolnomahalensko, in which Dimitri became the main teacher [1] .
Description
The Church of St. Demetrius is a brick building with whitewashed walls, with a wooden porch and a small bell tower on the roof.
Church visitors can familiarize themselves with samples of icon painting owned by the brush of one of the most famous samokov revival masters .
