Description
In the 1st century, the Romans created the city of Pautalia (now - Kyustendil ), which became an important fortress, a shopping center, and also due to its proximity to numerous thermal and mineral springs, a hydrotherapy resort. Here, on an area of over 3,500 m², they founded Asklepion Pautalia - the temple of the god of medicine Asclepius . About 1000 m² of this complex was occupied by baths , which included 6 rooms, interconnected by granite walkways.
