Bash-Laiski ( azerb. Baş Layısqı ) is a village in the Sheki region of Azerbaijan near the southern foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, on the banks of the Shinchay River. It is located 35 km northwest of the city of Sheki and 9 km from the Sheki-Zagatala highway.

Content
History
The area was originally called Laisga. [2] . The prefix Bash means the main or the top. The village is mentioned in the Caucasian calendar of 1915 as the Tatar (Azerbaijani) village of Bash - Laiski, Nukhinsky district, Elizavetpol province with a population of 1077 thousand people [3] .
Population
Mostly Azerbaijanis live in the village. According to data for 1976, 2449 people lived in the village [4] . By population in 2009 - 5772 people, the village is in fifth place in the district.
Attractions
The grave of Sheikh Nurullah Efendi Ziyaryatgahi buried in the village is a shrine and a place of pilgrimage.
