Description
The flag of Krasnodar Region was approved on May 5, 1995 by the law of Krasnodar Region No. 5-KZ [1] , which establishes the following flag description:
βThe flag of Krasnodar Region is a rectangular panel of three different-sized horizontal stripes: the top is blue, the middle is raspberry, and the bottom is green. The width of the two extreme bands is equal to the width of the crimson strip. In the center of the flag is the emblem of the Krasnodar Territory , made in the same color version - in gold. The ratio of the width of the flag and its length - 2: 3 ".
June 28, 2004, the law of the Krasnodar Territory No. 730-KZ [2] , changed the look of the coat of arms of the region: added the princely crown , the ribbon of the Order of Lenin . The corresponding changes were made on the flag, and the flag description was slightly changed:
βThe flag of Krasnodar Region is a rectangular panel of three different-sized horizontal stripes: the top is blue, the middle is raspberry, and the bottom is green. The width of the two extreme bands is equal to the width of the middle band. In the center of the flag is the emblem of the Krasnodar Territory, made in a single-color version - in yellow with an orange outline. The ratio of the width of the flag and its length - 2: 3 ".
Symbolization Justification
The colors of the flag of the region do not officially bear any symbolic load in themselves, except for the fact that they repeat the colors of the flag of the Kuban People's Republic , which is considered the national flag of the Kuban Cossacks .
For the first time, the newly approved flag was raised on June 1, 1995, in front of the Legislative Assembly of the Krasnodar Territory.
