Ivan Yakovlevich Krasnoshchekov - Russian guitar master . Born in the village of Znamenka, in the Ryazan province. He studied from 1810 with M. Dubrovin in Moscow, where in 1824 he opened his own workshop. He made mainly 7-string guitars, as well as violins. Almost all outstanding Russian guitarists played the instruments of his work. He was friendly with M. T. Vysotsky, whose advice he used. Instruments, distinguished by their soft silver timbre sound and fine artistic decoration, were highly appreciated. In 1872, the guitar of his work was awarded a gold medal at the Moscow Polytechnic Exhibition.
He died in Moscow on July 31, 1875, at the age of 77.
