Hussein Kavazovich (born July 3, 1964) - Supreme Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina since 2012. Previously was a mufti of Tuzla.

Biography
Born in Gradacac in the family of Hassan and Saima Kavazovich [1] . He graduated from elementary school there, then entered the madrasah located in Sarajevo , which he graduated in 1983. In 1985-90 he studied at Al-Azhar University . After returning from Egypt, he received a master's degree in Sharia science from the Department of Islamic Studies at Sarajevo University [2] [3] .
After graduating, he worked as an imam, khatib and muallim in the cities of Srebrenik and Gradachats. From 1993 to 2012 he was imam of the city of Tuzla. Also in the early 1990s, was elected a member of the Council of the Islamic Community of Bosnia and Herzegovina
In 2012, the Islamic Society elected Hussein Kavazovich as the Supreme Mufti of Bosnia and Herzegovina. Voting took place in the Gazi Khusrev-Bega mosque, Kavazovich received 240 votes out of 382. Before the election, he called for increased interfaith cooperation, as well as for a wider "inclusion of women in the work of the Islamic religious community."
Hussein Kavazovich was also considered as a candidate for the post of the Supreme Mufti of Hungary [4] .
He speaks Bosnian, Arabic and English [5] [6] [7] [8] .
Criticism
In May 2016, in Switzerland, on the eve of the local elections in Bosnia and Herzegovina, Kavazovich said that you should not allow “Vlachs to rule Srebrenica ” (Vlachs are a negative nickname for Serbs) [9] . He also said that Bosniaks have only two choices: either they will vote and confirm their sovereignty over Bosnia and Herzegovina, or they will "shed blood every 20-30 years." In addition, Kavazovich called for “protecting himself [the Bosnians] from them [the Serbs]” [10] .
Hussein Kavazovich, as well as many other Bosnian Muslims, was repeatedly criticized and threatened in the pages of the Rumiyya magazine published by ISIS in Bosnian [11] .
