Ain Beida ( Arabic: عين البيضاء ) is a city and commune in eastern Algeria , in the province of Ouargla . It is part of Sidi Huiled County .

Geographical position
The city is located in the west of the central part of vilayet, on the territory of one of the oases of northern Sahara , east of the city of Ouargla , at a distance of approximately 563 kilometers (in a straight line) southeast of the capital of Algeria . The absolute height is 138 meters above sea level [1] .
The Ain Beida commune borders with the communes of Ouargla , Ruissat , Sidi-Huiled , Hassi-Ben-Abdallah and Hassi-Mesaud . Its area is 1973 km².
Climate
The climate of the city is characterized as arid hot ( BWh in the Köppen climate classification ). Precipitation during the year is extremely low (average annual amount is 45 mm). The average annual temperature is 22.3 ° C. The average temperature of the coldest month (January) is 10.7 ° С, the hottest month (July) is 34.2 ° С [2] .
Population
According to the official census of 2008, the population of the commune was 19,039 people. The proportion of the male population was 51.1%, of the female - 48.9%, respectively [3] . The literacy rate of the population was 82.5%. The literacy rate among men was 91.1%, among women - 73.5% [4] . 5.4% of Ain Beida residents had higher education, 16.2% had secondary education [5] .
