Incidents
- In mid-August 1970, the crash of the L-29 aircraft of the Eisk VVAUL airfield at the Zernograd airfield. The crew was composed of a first-year cadet Ivanov and an instructor pilot Captain Shapoval V. The cadet performed a test flight before an independent flight to the complex aerobatics. When performing the second half of the loop of Nesterov in a position close to the vertical, a control failure occurred. Pilot instructor began the output in the GP using the elevator trimmer. The cadet was given a command to eject, which he executed immediately. It was not possible to withdraw from the decline, the plane collided with the ground 300 meters from the Khleborobnoye, pilot-instructor died. The reason is a design-production flaw, expressed in the fact that during operation, the flanging of the electric cable passing through the cabin compartment and touching the elevator thrust weakened, which provoked a short circuit of kerosene condensate. There were no fire alarm sensors in that place. The crew continued to perform the task on a burning plane until the elevator thrust burned out. Pilot-instructor attempted ejection did not take. In the PL investigation commission, it was suggested that he would take the aircraft from the settlement to the very collision with the ground. After that, the LP branch pipe of the TB prompting system was brought out and modified the electrical wiring system. The name of the pilot-instructor to-on Shapoval V. named school in with. Khleborobnoye Zernogradsky district of Rostov region.
