Cicindela columbica - a species of beetles - horses from the family of ground beetles . Endemic Idaho (USA) [1] . Previously, the range also extended to Oregon and Washington, but the construction of dams on the Columbia River reduced it [2] .

The beetle lives on the sandy banks of the river, hunting smaller arthropods . The larva is also predatory. The construction of dams changed the water level in the river and, thus, led to a reduction in the population of the species [1] .
