The song begins with the phrase “It's Britney, Bitch!” (Russ. “ This is Britney, bitch! ”), Which underlines Britney Spears: sexy, bitchy and provocative, only heated by her scandalous antics in 2007; With the release of this song, Spears made it clear to everyone that the old Britney would no longer be there; leaving behind the image of a diligent virgin . Britney recorded this song during her second pregnancy.
The single started from third place on the Billboard Hot 100 , became number 1 in the national Canadian charts, and also hit the top 5 in fourteen countries; becoming one of the most successful Britney singles. February 13, 2008 single received platinum status.

Performance at MTV Video Music Awards
On September 9, 2007, Spears performed "Gimme More" at the MTV Video Music Awards , held at the Palms Casino in Las Vegas . It was expected that this performance will be the return of the singer on the big stage, but it was unsuccessful. Spears looked extremely unprofessional, she didn’t always get into the phonogram and in the dance lagged behind the choreographic support group. Nevertheless, it was this performance by Britney Spears that raised the VMA 2007 ratings to incredible heights, given that this show has begun to lose them in recent years. [2]
Video Clip
Shooting the video for the song took place on July 19 and August 7 in Los Angeles . The director of the clip was Jake Sarfaty.

The video premiered on October 5, 2007 on iTunes and October 8 on MTV . Feedback from viewers and critics were, with rare exceptions, negative.
