Babkin, Pyotr Semenovich

Pyotr Semenovich Babkin ( 1921 - 2009 ) - Soviet physician, neurologist, professor of the Department of Neurology of the All-Russian State Medical Academy named after N. N. Burdenko, discoverer of the Babkin reflex [1] [2] .

Biography

Born July 13, 1921 in the village of Rogozhinsky (now Vadinsky district , Penza region ). During the Great Patriotic War he was a paramedic in the artillery regiment.

  • 1950 - graduated with honors from the Krasnoyarsk Medical Institute .
  • 1950-1953 - Head of the Department of Nervous Diseases, Krasnoyarsk Medical Institute;
    • 1956-1968 - Associate Professor there.
  • 1968-1990 - Head of the Department of Neurology, VGMI named after N. N. Burdenko ,
    • Since 1991 - professor of the Department of Nervous Diseases in the same place.

He died in 2009 .

  • diagnosis of nervous diseases
  • neurogenic and evolutionary birth problems
  • perinatal neurology

Pyotr Semenovich - co-author of the method of automated analysis of needle electromyography .

P. S. Babkin - author of more than 200 scientific papers, including 5 monographs;

  • “Reflexes and their clinical significance” (Moscow, 1973);
  • "Fundamentals of the differential diagnosis of nervous diseases" (Voronezh: Publishing house of the University of Voronezh, 1982)
  • “Intensive care of emergency conditions in neuropathology” (Voronezh: Voronezh State Medical Institute, 1976
  • “Childbirth and the newborn: evolutionary, neurogenic and iatrogenic problems” (Voronezh, 2004)

Social activities

Pyotr Semyonovich was a member of All-Union congresses and international conferences, symposia, congresses of neuropathologists.
He is a member of the Board of the All-Russian Society of Neurologists of Neurologists,
Member of the New York Academy of Sciences.

Prepared 7 candidates of medical sciences.

  • Order of the Patriotic War II degree (6.4.1985)
  • Order of the Red Star (09.22.1944) [3]
  • Medal "For Courage" (03/28/1945; was presented to the Order of the Red Star)
