Biography
Born on June 16, 1930 in the city of Balashov, Saratov Region, in the family of Nikolai Stepanovich Kononov, the driver of the Pishcheproduct artel, and Agonena Dmitrievna Kononova, housewives.
He graduated from 10 classes of men's secondary school No. 1 of Balashov (1947) and entered the electric power faculty of the Moscow Power Engineering Institute. A year later he transferred to the Physics and Power Engineering Department of MPEI, and in 1951 to the 5th year of the Instrument Engineering Department of the Moscow Mechanical Institute, where he graduated with a degree in Physical Instrument Engineering.
Sent to PO Box 21 ( Ozersk ). Arrived on March 1, 1953 and was enrolled as a physical engineer of instrumentation and automation.
