Biography
The son of a "free carpenter German." Pupil of the Imperial Academy of Arts from the age of 5 (1773). During his studies, he received Academy Awards: a small silver medal (1786), a large silver and a large gold medal (1788). After graduating with a certificate of 1st degree (1879) was sent abroad as a pensioner of the Academy of Fine Arts .
He received the title of "appointed to academics" (1795) for the painting "Saint Sebastian" and was assigned to the picturesque historical class of the Academy of Arts for "looking after students" (1795-1798). Shortly before his death, in 1800, the artist was awarded the title of academician for the program “By Androklu, hiding in a cave, the lion inadvertently came as well, in which one paw was damaged and bloodied.
