Group History

The group was founded by Petri Valley ( vocals , guitar ) and Yucca Yuli ( bass ), in 1990 Sami Kuoppamyaki ( drums ) joined the group. The band's original name was Moonshine Makers , but later members changed it to Kingston Wall . The main activity period was between 1992 and 1994. In December 1994, the group played their last concert in Helsinki, after which they suspended their activities indefinitely due to conflicts among the participants. Six months later, on June 28, 1995, vocalist Petri Valley committed suicide by jumping from the roof of the Töölö Church.

The first Kingston Wall I album (1992) was written in the psychedelic - progressive genre [2] . The album also included a cover version of Jimi Hendrix’s song “Fire,” which was played on the radio, which made the band famous.

The second album, Kingston Wall II (1993), was marked by the influence of folk music [3] . The song “Shine on Me” included in the album is considered a classic of Finnish rock music. Two weeks after the release, the album finished third in the Finland charts.

The third, also the last, Tri-Logy album (1994) has the influence of electronic music [4] . “Another Piece of Cake” was the first song to record a video.
