Vladimir Alexandrovich Kurnosov (1926-1998), Russian scientist in the field of design and construction of nuclear facilities, laureate of the State Prize and Prize of the Council of Ministers of the USSR.

Biography
Born February 23, 1926 in Tambov. After training at the construction college, he worked as a foreman and head of the section of the Lenzoloto Trust.
In 1953 he graduated from the Leningrad Civil Engineering Institute and got a direction at VNIPIET, where he worked for the rest of his life in positions from an engineer to a chief engineer (1985–1989) and general director (1989–1998).
Scientific interests: nuclear facilities and industry; machine-building, instrument-making and radiochemical industries; building.
Project manager for the liquidation of accidents in 1957 and 1963 in Chelyabinsk-65. The author and technical manager of the project is the Shelter Object (Chernobyl NPP, 1986).
Doctor of technical sciences, professor.
Laureate of the USSR State Prize and the USSR Council of Ministers Prize . Honored Builder of the Russian Federation (1996). He was awarded the Order of the Red Banner of Labor (1982) and the October Revolution (1986).
He died on December 8, 1998.
