Born September 4, 1926 in the village Rozhevo Sychevsky county of Smolensk province. Since 1940 he worked in Leningrad at the Kirov plant.

He graduated from the Leningrad Electrotechnical Institute (1951).

In 1952-1968 worked at the plant No. 817 (Chelyabinsk-40, Production Association “Mayak”): physical engineer, senior researcher, since 1955 head of the physical laboratory No. 5 of the Central Laboratory of Health.

In 1968-1989 - in the apparatus of the Ministry of Environment of the USSR in Moscow: head of the physicotechnical department, deputy chief and head of the scientific and technical department. During this period, under his leadership, many scientific and engineering problems of the nuclear fuel cycle were solved, technologies for processing complex polymetallic ores and radioactive waste were developed, and automated control systems were designed and implemented. In 1986 he participated in the aftermath of the Chernobyl accident.

Since 1990, a leading researcher at the Central Research Institute of Atominform.
