History
The reconstruction of the route of the embassy of the Baghdad caliph in 921–922 according to the report of its secretary Ahmed ibn Fadlan revealed that the final point of the embassy and the location of the winter rate of the emir of the Caspian Bulgarians Almush is the current village of Three Protoka [3] .
Geography
The village is located in the south-eastern part of the Astrakhan region, east of Astrakhan , to which the Tri Protoka highway leads. The village stands on the Kutum channel in the Volga River Delta .
The absolute height is -22 meters below sea level [4]
The village on the east side is adjoined by the village of Novy Kutum , from the south-west the village of Polyana , from the north-east the village of Novonachalovsky , from the north-west a garden community (actually - a summer residence ) Kazatum .

According to the All-Russian Census , in 2010 the population of the village was 2569 people (1242 men and 1327 women, 48.3 and 51.7 %% respectively) [2]
According to the results of the 2002 census , Tatars accounted for 68% of the total 1998 population in the national population structure [6] .
