Biography

According to some information, the real name is Herzberg [2] , the year of birth is 1900 [2] , was born in a deaf Siberian village, from where she was brought to St. Petersburg, was illiterate up to ten years old, and an abundance of impressions from the capital city led her to the disease [ 2] .

According to official information, she was born on 10 (23) November 1902 in St. Petersburg .

Participant, sister of mercy, civil war [2] . Having demobilized, she entered to study to be a philologist and a physician, then to the Vaudeville Theater-Studio at the People’s House, where the artistic director was the famous journalist and theater critic Alexander Kugel . At the same time she studied at the studio of Vladimir Karpov [2] .

In 1922 she graduated from the studio at the Petrograd Theater of the People's House , where she made her debut play "The Eternal Husband " by F. M. Dostoevsky as Lisa.

In 1922, at the invitation of A. A. Bryantsev, the actress came to Lentyuz , to whom she devoted twenty years. She played mainly roles in travesty . It was noticed by E. Schwartz , who specially wrote the role of Barbara for her (the play “Underwood”). In the 1930s she began teaching at the Theater Institute, became an assistant professor. She staged performances as a director at the State Farm-Collective Farm Theater. I learned French myself. Has undergone the most severe surgery for cancer [2] .

In 1938, she made her film debut - in the film “The Man with a Gun, ” Uvarov performed the role of a holddown.

During the Great Patriotic War, together with the theater in the evacuation in Anzhero-Sudzhensk and Berezniki [2] .

In 1944, Uvarova left the Theater for Young Spectators and joined N. Akimov in the troupe at the Leningrad Comedy Theater , where she almost immediately took one of the leading places. She performed about forty roles on this stage.

On August 24, 1977, Uvarova died in her apartment after a serious long illness [2] . She was buried at the Seraphim cemetery next to her mother. [3]

From the 1950s and almost until her death, Elizaveta Uvarova taught at LGITMiK .
