Territory
The diocese covers the southern part of the Venezuelan state of Ansoategui , namely the municipalities of Simon Rodriguez , San Jose de Guanipa , Independencia , Francisco de Miranda and Jose Gregorio Monagas , the parish of Caccipo in the municipality of Aragua and the parish of Sao Tome [2] .
The area of the Diocese of El Tigre is 22.978 km², its territory is divided into 14 parishes [1] .
History
On May 31, 2018, Pope Francis established the Diocese of El Tigre, separating it from the Diocese of Barcelona [2] .
