Nizhyn College of Medicine ( Ukrainian: Nizhinsk Medical College ) is a higher educational institution in the city of Nizhyn, Chernihiv region of Ukraine.

History
On August 14, 1907, in the city of Nizhyn of the Nizhyn district of the Chernigov province of the Russian Empire , a private female feldsher-obstetric school of doctor P.A.Bustedt was opened , the students of which received the right to undergo practical training in medical institutions of the city. Initially, in 1907, the school had one class, in which 23 students studied. Education at school was paid, it lasted four years, graduates received the profession of paramedic and midwives of the first category.
On October 12, 1915, a school for the protection of motherhood and childhood was opened at the school.
On January 18 (31), 1918, Soviet power was established in Nizhyn, on March 5, 1918, it was occupied by the advancing Austro-German forces , and later the city was in the combat zone of the civil war . On the night of November 20-21, 1919, the city was occupied by units of the 12th Army of the Red Army and Soviet power was restored [1] .
In 1920, by order of the Trade Union Bureau and the county department of public education, the feldsher-obstetric school was transformed into the state feldsher-pharmaceutical school, and in 1921 it was reorganized into a medical college , in 1922 into a medical school. On September 20, 1930, the educational institution again became a medical college, and in 1936, the medical and obstetric school.
In the 1930s, the school mainly trained nurses [1] .
After the start of World War II in June 1941, the educational institution stopped working and did not function during the German occupation of the city (September 13, 1941 - September 15, 1943) . After the end of hostilities, the restoration of the city began [1] .
In October 1943, the institution resumed work - first as an obstetric school [2] , and after the reorganization that took place in 1954–1955, as the Nezhinsk Medical School [1] [3] [4] .
In 1999, the school was accredited as a higher educational institution of the first level.
On December 22, 2005, the Nezhinsky Medical School was renamed the Nezhinsky Medical College .
Current status
The college is a higher educational institution of the first level of accreditation [5] , which provides training for junior specialists in four specialties ("General Medicine", "Nursing", "Medical and Preventive Medicine" and "Obstetric Medicine").
