History
The building was built in 1824 near the estate of Yuri Kobylinsky. In 1833, the building was expanded along the street, the facade was redesigned. The building was damaged in a big city fire of 1881, after which it was restored, the facade has not changed. In the second half of the XIX century, the house belonged to the noblewoman Sofia Mechislavovna Prushinskaya. As of 1910, there were several shops in the house on the ground floor, including two manufactory and a bookstore, as well as workshops, and on the second floor there was a banking office of G. A. Livshits. The rest of the premises were residential. In 1920, the house was nationalized, its premises were converted into communal apartments. During World War II, the house was not damaged. In the second half of the XX century, the house lost its internal layout and partly - the decor of the facade. At this time, it housed residential apartments and a number of institutions. The house was restored in 2008, during which time a historical fireplace was preserved and mothballed [1] [2] .
Architecture
The building is decorated in the style of classicism. It is two-story, rectangular in plan, has a gable roof. The decor of the building is modest. The window openings of the second floor are decorated with triangular sandriks. In the center of the building there was a travel arch, above it a balcony (now lost). A belt of crackers runs under the cornice on the facade. The courtyard facade is supported on the side by powerful buttresses [1] [2] .
