Biography
He was educated at Westminster School at Oxford Brasenos College .
Member of World War II , was captured by the Japanese, in which he spent three years. He was awarded the Burmese star .
In 1946-1947 worked in the Burmese colonial service, and from 1948 to 1961 in northern Nigeria. In 1962-1968 - Deputy Commissioner of Swaziland.
From 1968 to 1971 he was the last administrator of the Cayman Islands, and in November 1971 he held the post of first governor of the territory for a short time.
After retiring, he continued to participate in the public life of the islands. He was the chairman of the International Management Group, the chairman of the Public Service Commission and the deputy chairman of the Public Service Pensions Council (1992-1996).
In 1996, he retired.
On his 100th birthday in January 2019, he received personal congratulations from the Cayman Islands Governor Martin Ropera .
