Story
A wedding celebration takes place on the roof of the house, among the garbage a black man and a white girl exchange rings, their priest, a member of the Ku Klux Klan , crowns them. Cast
- Mary Vivian Pierce - Dancer
- Mona Montgomery - Ballerina / Bride
- Tricia Waters - Guest
Filming
According to the director’s idea, initially the picture was supposed to be some kind of interpretation of the film “ Mary Poppins ” with Julie Andrews , but the budgetary framework of the film of only thirty dollars did not allow the plans to come true [2] . The film was shot on camera, presented to the director by his grandmother, an 8-mm camera, right in the house of John Waters' parents in Baltimore , Maryland , his mother even accompanied the piano.
Release
The film was shown once only at a local coffee shop in 1964 [2] . Due to the fact that Mona Montgomery, the then girlfriend of Waters, stole the film with the picture, the film was not shown for a long time. Only in 2014, the audience saw the film on the big screen as part of a retrospective screening of Waters' films [3] .
