Biography
In 1911, he won the competition for the best sketch of an evening dress, organized by the London haute couture house Lucile , and got a job in the London salon of this house.
During the First World War he served in the British Army.
After the war, he moved to Paris, where in 1919 he opened his own atelier of high fashion. In 1925-1932, in addition to the Paris boutique, Molino had stores in Cannes , Biarritz and London.
During the Second World War, Molino was one of the initiators of the creation of the “United Society of London Fashion Designers”, responsible for the export direction and developing model models for industrial production according to the Utility plan.
In 1945, he resumed his home, but in 1950 closed it, after which he left for Jamaica . In 1965, he made an attempt to return to the world of fashion by developing a collection of ready-made dresses for the American market. In 1974, the house of Edward Molino was finally closed.
