Albert Lucas Johannes Fransella ( English Albert Lucas Johannes Fransella ; March 17, 1865 , Amsterdam - March 7, 1935 , London ) is an English flutist of Dutch descent.

The son of a flutist and music teacher, Jacob Henrik Franzella (1840–1884). He studied with his father and with Jacques de Jong. At the age of 16, he received high marks from Johannes Brahms, who visited Amsterdam [1] . In 1888, Mr .. took the place of the first flute player in the Concertgebouw Orchestra . In 1891 he moved to London, where he spent the rest of his life, in 1926, together with his three sons, he issued British citizenship [2] .
He played with many leading English orchestras, especially working closely with conductor Henry Wood . August 10, 1895 took part in the very first Promenade concert under the direction of Wood, performing two parts from the suite of Benjamin Godard , several times starting from 1898 recorded his plays. Accompanied several famous vocalists on tour, including Nelly Melba . In 1909, Karl Reinecke was the first in London to perform the flute concert , in 1913 he became the first performer of the Scottish pastoral Cyril Scott (along with the author), in 1917 he participated in the first public performance of the Claude Debussy Sonata for Flute, Harp and Viola together with Miriam Timothy (harp) and Harry Waldo Warner (viola).
He taught at the Guildhall School of Music . Among the students of Francella, in particular, Holger Gilbert-Jespersen .
Killed himself after a serious illness.
