“Dreamlanders” is the name of a troupe of actors and film crew members who are involved in films by American director John Waters . Later, Waters named his production company Dreamland Productions [1] .
History
The first members of the Dreamlanders gang were Waters' friends from a Baltimore suburb: Bob Skidmore, Mark Iservud and Mary Vivian Pierce . Subsequently, they moved to Baltimore itself, where Waters met Devine and David Locary [2] [3] . Also, the team was joined by designer Vincent Peranio, who rented a bakery in Fells Point, and the other members of Dreamlanders also lived there. They called this room “Hollywood Bakery” [4] [5] . Perriano recruits Mink Stole , George Figgs, Bob Adams, Susan Low, Paul Swift, Chris Mason and Peter Koper into the troupe [6] .
Waters tried to offer the role of each member of the troupe in his films. The only actress appearing in all the director's films was Mary Vivian Pierce (her scene from the film “Crying” was cut out during editing), and Mink Stoul, who did not participate only in the first short films by Waters, could also be the leader in the number of roles [7] .
