History
In the XIII century, these lands belonged to the bishops of Brandenburg . In the 1320s, to the princes of Pomerania . First mentioned in 1337 as German. Güstebiese . In 1402, the land was sold to the Teutonic Order . In 1701 they went to the Elector of Brandenburg, Frederick William I.
In 1758, the Zorndorf battle took place in the vicinity of the village. In 1812, the Great Army of Napoleon crossed the river. Oder by the village.
In February 1945, the village was liberated by units of the 5th shock army of the 1st Belorussian Front from Wehrmacht troops. In April 1945, sappers of the 1st Army of the Polish Army built a pontoon bridge over the Oder here to ferry units of the 1st Polish Army (275 m long and 16 tons payload). On April 14-20, 1945, Polish troops crossed the river, preparing with the Soviet troops for the Berlin offensive .
In August 1945, under the Potsdam Agreement , which established the western border of Poland on the Oder and Neisse , the village was divided into Güstebieser Loose, which was left to Germany, and the right-bank Güstebiese, under the name Gozdowice - Poland.
