About the album
The album is a recording of the concert of the “Ivan Smirnov Quartet” in the Moscow club “CLUB”, which took place on January 30, 2002. The reviewer of the jazz.ru portal, appreciating the musical material and the quality of the game of Ivan Smirnov’s companions (“he is a very deep musician with a huge stylistic range and a wide range of techniques, which allows him to mix jazz elements into a completely organic unity, flamenco, fusion, Celtic and Russian folk - and all this in a very accurate ensemble game ”), criticized the level of production and mastering of the album [1] .
In 2012, the album was re-released by the Alexey Kozlov Foundation “ArtBeat” in a slightly modified (more “rich”) design and with translation of the text of the booklet into English [2] .
