Plan of Operation Tibet

Secret radio service OKV AMT Ausland / Abwehr (Ministry of Foreign Affairs / Defense)

The plan of Operation Tibet is a plan of a special military operation of the Third Reich , developed by the joint efforts of the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Third Reich and the SS against England in Tibet . The plan for Operation Tibet was developed by SS Hauptsturmführer Ernst Schaeffer and provided for subversive activities against England, using the uprisings of Tibetan tribes in Tibet .
The strategic objective of the operation was "undermining British rule in Tibet and the Himalayas."

The operation plan provided for the organization of a major uprising of Tibetan tribes and sabotage against strategic facilities and communications, as well as units of the British Indian army. The period of its holding in time should coincide with another operation of the Wehrmacht - "Amanullah" .

The plan was not implemented due to the defeat of the German troops near Stalingrad , Kursk and the Caucasus .

Stages of the operation in accordance with the Plan

Operation Tibet was planned to be carried out in three stages:
The first stage of the operation was to drop three agents with large sums of money in Tibet . By the fall of 1939, it was realized.

The second stage involved sending a detachment of 10-30 saboteurs armed with machine guns and machine guns to Tibet through Afghanistan . Again, with a large sum of money - about 3 million Reichsmarks for sabotage.

The third stage was planning an undercover operation - equipment of a “scientific” expedition consisting of 200 (two hundred) SS officers and non-commissioned officers who had undergone special sabotage training. The SS base, for the implementation of this phase of the operation, was planned in one of the Soviet Central Asian republics. The task of the expedition was to deliver from this base to the tribes of Tibet and the northern regions of the "independent" strip of British India a caravan consisting of three thousand pack animals loaded with a large amount of weapons, including mortars.
