Mitchell, Margaret Howell

Margaret Howell Mitchell (1901-1988) is Canada's first internationally recognized bird watcher .

Biography

Born in Toronto . She got married in 1927. In 1957 she became the author of a monograph on the birds of Brazil , in which she lived for some time. In 1954, she published articles on the open bird in The Auk and Wilson Bulletin . Has discovered at least 289 species of birds. Then she continued observations in Britain, Barbados and northeast Canada [1] . After several blows, she was a wheelchair invalid until the end of her days.
