Biography
Gridchin Anatoly Mitrofanovich was born on June 21, 1940 in the village. Zolotukhino Zolotukhinsky district of Kursk region in the family of an employee.
In 1957 he graduated from Korochansky secondary school, in 1964 - the Faculty of Road Construction of the Kharkov Automobile and Road Institute.
After studying at the institute he served in the ranks of the Soviet Army.
From 1965 to 1974 worked as the chief engineer of the road section, the foreman, the chief engineer and the head of the Alekseevsky road construction department. [one]
In 1974-1990 A. M. Gridchin - at Soviet and party work: Chairman of the Executive Committee of the City Council of Workers' Deputies in Alekseyevka, First Secretary of the Shebekinsky CPSU City Committee, First Secretary of the Belgorod City CPSU Committee [2] .
In 1990, he was elected Chairman of the Belgorod City Council of People's Deputies. In 1993-2000. served as deputy head of the administration of the Belgorod region. He took an active part in the development and implementation of targeted programs: “Own Home”, “Gasification”, “Water Supply, Telecommunication and Radio Settlement for Villages”, in the program for road construction and improvement of settlements of the Belgorod Region.
Since 1992, Anatoly Mitrofanovich combines administrative and managerial work with teaching and research at the Belgorod State Technological Institute of Building Materials (today - BSTU named after V. G. Shukhov). The results of his scientific research served as the basis for the creation of the department of roads and airfields, which A. M. Gridchin headed in 1997 [3] .
The implementation of research work carried out under the guidance of A.M. Gridchin made it possible to begin large-scale construction of roads in the Belgorod Region using incidentally mined rocks and waste from the enrichment of ferruginous quartzites of KMA. [four]
In 2000, A. M. Gridchin was elected as rector of the Belgorod State Technological University. V. G. Shukhov. From 2010 to the present, he is president of BSTU. V. G. Shukhov.

In 1978, A. M. Gridchin defended his thesis for the degree of candidate of technical sciences on the topic: "Study of overburden of the Kursk Magnetic Anomaly for road construction." In 1993, he was awarded the academic title of associate professor, in 1998 - professor.
Doctoral dissertation on the topic: “Improving the efficiency of road concrete by using aggregate from anisotropic raw materials” was defended in 2003 [6]
Field of research: development of the theoretical foundations for the use of rocks of anisotropic structure and the technology of their crushing in the production of road-building materials.
A. M. Gridchin is a major specialist in the field of transport systems and road construction. He and his students created a scientific school. The results of scientific and innovative developments laid the foundation for the creation of an industrial school for the road-building complex of the Belgorod region.
Under the guidance of A. M. Gridchin, 2 doctoral and 7 master's theses were defended.
The direction of scientific and methodological activity: the creation of interdisciplinary complexes and the professionalization of fundamental disciplines for the intensification of the educational process in higher education.
Published over 250 scientific and scientific-methodological works, including 13 publications in central Russian peer-reviewed publications and abroad, more than 20 monographs and study guides [7] .
