Book Worm is the annual Russian professional humanitarian and publishing award established in 2014. Awarded on the basis of merit, without reference to the "achievements of the past year."
Founders
The award was established by Vita Nova Publishing House, the Institute of Russian Literature (Pushkin House) of the Russian Academy of Sciences , the World Club of Petersburgers and the V. Dahl State Museum of the History of Russian Literature ( State Literary Museum ).
Nomination Procedure
The prize can be nominated to all those who have nobly contributed to the development of book business in Russia - the best publishers, editors, designers, illustrators, philanthropists, art historians, collectors, teachers - it is not the profession that is important, but the contribution to the support of book art. The right to be nominated for the prize is:

- Independent experts
Reader's vote
Reader's voting for determining the prize of readership is held on the website of the award and ends the day before the presentation ceremony. The Reader’s Prize is awarded simultaneously with the award.

Awarding
Laureates are awarded the Bookworm statuette (porcelain, gold), a commemorative diploma and a collection edition. The nominee of the laureate also receives a gift from the publishing house Vita Nova.

- Polygraphist Anatoly Fyodorovich Makhlov for loyalty and dedication to the book business in any circumstances, for many years of service to the cause of high printing art and book art.

- art critic Lidia Stepanovna Kudryavtseva for her invaluable contribution to Russian art criticism and the careful preservation of the traditions of children's book art;
- editor Elena Daniilovna Shubina for the popularization of Russian prose, the formation of an impeccable literary taste and the creation of high standards of editorial work;
- Oleg Yurynin, artist and organizer of art projects, for the development and promotion of graphic art, the popularization of book graphics in our country and abroad, and an invaluable contribution to the education of young artists. He became the owner of a prize of readership.

- Director of the Russian State Children's Library Maria Aleksandrovna Vedenyapina in the nomination “So you read the necessary books in childhood”;

- Marina Kameneva, General Director of the Moscow Book Trading House, won the Fortuna libri nomination (“The fortunate fate of the book”) and won the diploma “For the courage of innovation in finding ways to read books and unique reading promotion programs”;
- Boris Mikhailovich Fridman, collector of rare books and works of fine art, won the Urbi et orbi (City and the World) nomination and won the diploma “For the Promotion of the Artist’s Books in Russia and Outstanding Knowledge in the Field of Book Art”;
- twentieth-century graphic artist and researcher Andrei Aleksandrovich Kharshak in the nomination “Our Heritage”. For the preservation of cultural traditions, the continuity of generations and the connection of time ";
- the head of the publishing department of the library for the blind and visually impaired Victoria Vladimirovna Speranskaya won the reader’s sympathy prize in the nomination “Book Light”.
2018
- bibliophile, scholar of book culture and statesman Mikhail Vadimovich Seslavinsky won the nomination “Man of the word” and won the diploma “For loyalty to the traditions of enlightenment and preservation of cultural heritage”;
- designer and artist of the book, David Moiseevich Plaksin, in the nomination Grammar of Vision;
- Maya Lazarevna Peshkova, a book journalist and columnist for Ekho Moskvy radio station in the Speech nomination;
- publisher, collector and philanthropist Isaak Yakovlevich Kushnir became a laureate in the nomination “Gift of memory” and received a diploma for “Noble service to art and preservation of cultural values of the twentieth century”. He became the owner of a prize of readership.
