Georgy Aleksandrovich Noskov (1937-2017) - Russian ornithologist , professor, doctor of biological sciences. Founder of the Ladoga Ornithological Station, Chairman of the St. Petersburg Ornithological Society.
Biography
Born in Leningrad . In 1960 he graduated from Leningrad State University. He conducted basic research on bird migrations, participated in the creation of protected areas (reserves), and coordinated bird protection projects with Finland. Author of 9 monographs .
He died on January 9, 2017, before he reached his eightieth birthday for about one month. The scientist’s daughter, her husband (also an ornithologist) and their daughter soon died in a fire [1] .
