UNESCO Courier is a quarterly magazine published by UNESCO since 1948 in several languages. The magazine is designed to defend the ideals of UNESCO by exchanging ideas on topics of international importance related to education, science and culture [1] . Each issue is dedicated to one of the priorities of UNESCO.

History
UNESCO Courier was founded in 1947, two years after the organization itself appeared. The first issue of the magazine was published in 1948. It has been published in Russian since 1957, with a frequency of 11 issues per year (one double number). In the early 1980s, published in 26 languages.
In March 2006, UNESCO Courier launched an online version in the six official languages of the organization (English, French, Spanish, Arabic, Russian and Chinese). Currently, the magazine is also published in Portuguese, Esperanto and Sardinian. Since October 2018, Cademia Siciliana has been publishing a Sicilian version of the magazine [2] . In 1990-2002, the Ukrainian version of the journal was published [3] .
A limited edition of the paper version is published [4] . There is a free subscription to the electronic version of the magazine and a paid subscription to the paper version [5] .
The journal is published on the principle of free access under the Attribution-ShareAlike 3.0 IGO license ( CC-BY-SA 3.0 IGO). The license applies exclusively to the text of the publication, but not to the illustration.
