History
Initially, the village was called Naru-Tanbov - by the name of the river, then the characteristic for the Russian language assimilation of the sounds of “Tanbov-Tambov” occurred. When a temple was built in the village, and it received the status of a village, the name changed. The village became known as Nikolsky - named after the Nikolsky Church.
The first documentary mention of the village of Khitrovo was recorded in the records of the salary books of the spiritual diocese for 1702: “The Church of the Kazan Mother of God in the new settlement village of Nara-Tanbov. Toe church yard priest Safroniya. Yes, in the parish to that church in that village and beyond the Narutambovo river, in the parish villages, there are nine courtyards of the landlords near the peasants 'courtyards, 16 yards of foreigners-Circassians (Ukrainians), a widow's courtyard, and the millers' yard.
The village is also mentioned in the second reviz fairy tale of 1745, but already as the possession of the landowner Khitrov: “The village of Nikolskoye, which was the village of Naru-Tanbov, Major Yegor Vasilyev, the son of Khitrov, the courtyards and peasants, bought and transferred by him from various counties and villages ...” .
By 1745, 425 men and 306 women already lived in the village. The lands around the village subsequently belonged to Prince Golitsyn and Grigory Potemkin. [five]
The historical information presented in the book of Yudin B.I. (Village Khitrovo - pages of history. Historical chronicle, Tambov: Proletarskii svetoch, 2003), A. Litovsky disputes, claiming that the book contains historical inaccuracy, and the first date of mentioning the village does not refer by 1702, and by 1745. [6]
The village of Khitrovo is associated with the birth of a large peasant uprising in the Tambov region during the formation of Soviet power. It became one of those villages in which the Tambov Uprising began. It is believed that it was precisely with the disarmament of the food detachment in the village of Khitrovo of the Tambov district on August 15, 1920 that the unrest of the peasants began. [7]
