Story

In the medieval Kingdom of Springfield, a family of serf villagers Surfson visit Jacqueline Bouvier , mother Marge , in the mansion of the Giant Spider (the then retirement home ) and take her to look at the new heads that were hung on the city wall. During this, Marge is shocked to discover that Jacqueline is freezing.

In Hibbert's Barber Surgery, Jacqueline reveals progressive freezing after being bitten by an Ice Walker: the flesh of a victim of a bite turns into ice within a week. To save her, the Hibbert barber offers treatment with the Warmfire Amulet. However, its cost is too high for serfs, and Marge sends Homer to collect the necessary money. At this time, the lion Azzlan is trying to force the slaves to convert to Christianity , but Marge drives him away.

At the Springfield Human Station, Homer unsuccessfully tries to ask his boss, Lord Montgomery , for money. Seeing the plight of his father, Lisa solves the problem by magically transforming lead into gold . However, Lisa cannot publicly do magic , as then King Quimby will seize her and make her become one of his evil wizards.

At home, Marge gives the amulet to Jacqueline, who at first refuses, recognizing the futility of life, decides to wear it. At that moment, the wizards of King Quimby appear and take Lisa, accusing her of witchcraft. To save her, Homer provoked an uprising of the peasants of the city against feudalism . Attacking the castle of the king, the peasants face the Quimby riding a dragon. Jacqueline decides to tear off the amulet, turning it into ice, thereby sacrificing herself to defeat the dragon. However, it turns out that the dragon was the source of all magic in the kingdom, including all magical creatures. Lisa suggests that the kingdom can now base its life on science . Horrified by this, Homer makes a fire in an attempt to revive the dragon. As a result, all magical creatures return, and the dragon comes to life and burns the village ...

Critical / Public Relations

During the Fox premiere, the episode was watched by 3.26 million people with a rating of 1.4, making it the second most popular Fox channel show that night. [2] Dennis Perkins of “ The AV Club ” rated the episode B-, saying: ““ The Serfsons ”is, in fact, a good episode, whose biggest drawback is its full availability during the new season's release. The show made an interesting episode, since the season premiere was more than once, and is perhaps intended to hook the audience with a few unassuming references to pop culture. Fair enough. The Surfons themselves have a whole bunch of things such as giving up any framing device or justification for a fancy walk. This is a hammered peasant family such as from Game of Thrones, The Lord of the Rings , extravaganza Dungeons & Dragons . ” [3]

On the NoHomers Club website, according to the vote, most fans rated the series 3/5 with an average rating of 3.06 / 5 [4] .
