Hydrometeorological Observatory - a historical building of the mid-20th century in Minsk , a monument of architecture (number 712Г000204). Now part of the Belhydromet complex. Located at 110 Independence Avenue .

History
The building was built in 1934 (according to other sources - in 1936 [1] ) according to the project of the architect I. I. Volodko to house the geophysical observatory. In 1956, the observatory was reorganized into a hydrometeorological station. In 1970, a new five-story administrative building of Belhydromet was erected [2] .
Architecture
The building was erected in the style of constructivism . The brick building has three floors and a high basement, it is rectangular in plan with risalits and a small vestibule. The observatory is located on a hill, which was reflected in the general stepped structure of the building. The facades are oriented to the cardinal points, the main northern facade is facing Independence Avenue. The facades, deprived of decor, are cut by large, almost square window openings. Staircases along the side facades have continuous vertical glazing. Glazed balconies are placed at the corners of the courtyard facade at the level of the 2nd and 3rd floors. The building has a corridor layout with the placement of laboratories and auxiliary facilities on both sides of the corridor [2] .
