Mount Yashima
In Japanese history, Mount Yashima is known as a place in the vicinity of which, in 1185, one of the important battles of the Clan Taira and Minamoto clan war took place. Now Mount Yashima is a popular place for recreation and tourism. At the top of the mountain are platforms that offer views of the Inland Sea of Japan . On the mountain is the Yashima-ji Buddhist Temple , which also has a museum. The temple is on a pilgrimage route to 88 Shikoku temples. Not far from the temple is an aquarium. At the foot of the mountain there is an open-air museum Shikoku-mura , dedicated to the traditional architecture and life of the island of Shikoku [1] [2] .
Fragments of an ancient fortress of the Yasimanoki type ( 屋 島 の 城 ), dating back to the Asuka and Nara epochs, were recreated on the mountain [3] .
