The album includes eleven cover versions and one original song called “The Grind”. The album reflects the blues influence on the group’s work and demonstrates a “raw” sound, somewhat reminiscent of their work of the 70s.
Reaching 5th place in The Billboard 200 , the group sold 590,000 copies of the album, and in October 2006, Honkin 'on Bobo received the status of "gold".
In accordance with the large number of sexual slang and hidden hints that Stephen Tyler includes in his poems, the idiom 'honking on bobo' means fellatio on slang.
