History
A sugar factory in the village of Moevka, Yampolsky district, Podolsk province of the Russian Empire was built and began work in 1849 [1] .
In the first half of the 1880s, the plant processed from 80 thousand to 100 thousand Berkovtsy of sugar beets per year [1] .
After the end of the civil war, the plant was restored and resumed operation as a state enterprise .
During the Great Patriotic War in 1941 - 1944. the village was occupied by German troops , but after the war the plant resumed operations [2] .
In Soviet times, with the active participation of factory workers, the Tsukrovik Culture House was built.
After the independence of Ukraine, the plant was transferred to the State Committee of the Food Industry of Ukraine [3] .
In May 1995, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a decision on the privatization of the plant [3] . Subsequently, the state-owned enterprise was transformed into an open joint-stock company , and on January 31, 2000, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved a decision on the sale of the last 25% of the plant’s shares remaining in state ownership [4] .
In 2001, the plant stopped production and in 2002-2004. not functioning. In April 2004, the owners of the plant reported that the enterprise is capable of producing 2.12 thousand tons of sugar per day, but they cannot restore work on their own and they are ready to sell or lease the plant [5] .
In 2002-2006, the plant did not function. After the enterprise was declared bankrupt, in 2004 the plant’s workers, with the assistance of local residents, prevented the dismantling of equipment for scrap metal (a rally was held in front of the gate and a truck with metal pickers failed to enter the plant) [6] . After the factory became the property of PE "Kryazh", its restoration began. In 2007, a gas pipeline was laid to the plant [7] and production was restored. At this time, the processing capacity of the enterprise amounted to 1.92 thousand tons of sugar beets per day [8] .
The economic crisis that began in 2008 led to a decrease in sugar demand and complicated the position of the plant [9] . In 2009, retail sales of sugar began here (previously the plant was engaged only in wholesale sales) [10] . In 2010, the situation stabilized, the plant increased production and produced 9.393 thousand tons of sugar. In the sugar season of 2011, the plant processed about 201.25 thousand tons of sugar beets and produced 28.34 thousand tons of sugar [11] .
In July 2013, Podolskie Sugarworks, LLC (structural unit of the Kryazh agricultural holding, which owned the plant) took a loan of 36 million hryvnias at 21% per annum from Kievskaya Rus Bank, mortgaging the property of three sugar factories. The money was not returned and in March 2015, the Kryzhopolsky district court of the Vinnitsa region decided to collect 207 million hryvnias from the company, in May 2015 the decision entered into force. In July 2015, the Vinnitsa Region Commercial Court ruled to recover UAH 290 million (taking into account interest and penalties) from the company in favor of Kievan Rus Bank, and a temporary external administration was introduced at the Moevsky, Kapustyansky and Sokolovsky sugar factories [12] .
In the following years, the plant did not function, but in January 2018, preparations began for the launch of the enterprise [13] .
