Ludwig D'Aage ( German: Ludwig D'Hage ; May 7, 1863 , Schluckenau , now Czech Republic - April 22, 1960 , Sydney ) - Australian conductor and violinist of Austrian origin.
The son of a Pole and Czechs. In 1877-1880 studied at the Vienna Conservatory , which for unknown reasons did not graduate. In 1880 he moved to Australia. For five years he played as part of the Austrian Strauss Orchestra ( English Strauss Austrian Band ) in Melbourne , Sydney and other cities. Then he settled in Rockhampton as a music teacher. In the years 1887-1912. conducted the City Orchestra, turning it into the best in Queensland . As a music teacher, he is known primarily as the first teacher of Alma Moody .
Since 1912 he worked in Sydney, for three seasons he played the second violin in the Australian String Quartet. In the future, he mainly taught privately. In 1922 he received Australian citizenship.
