History

The village of Karpovo is mentioned on the map of the St. Petersburg province of F. F. Schubert in 1834 [2] .

KARPOVO - the village belongs to Lt. Col. Zarina and the court adviser Savitsky, the number of inhabitants under the audit: 48 m., 45 w. p. (1838) [3]


KARPOVO - the village belongs to different owners, along a country road, the number of yards - 29, the number of souls - 62 m. (1856) [4]


KARPOVO - the owner's village at the wells, the number of yards - 20, the number of inhabitants: 68 m., 73 railways. p. (1862) [5]

In 1879-1880, temporarily liable peasants of the village bought their land allotments from D. A. Rymleva and O. F. Fokova and became the owners of the land [6] .

A compilation of the Central Statistical Committee described the village as follows:

KARPOVA - a former owner's village, 12 yards, residents - 76. Chapel, school. (1885) [7] .

In the 19th century, the village administratively belonged to the Shumsky volost of the 1st camp of the Novoladozh district of the St. Petersburg province, at the beginning of the 20th century - of the 4th camp.

According to 1933, the village of Karpovo was part of the Ratnitsky village council of the Mginsky district [8] .

According to the data of 1966 and 1973, the village of Karpovo was subordinate to the Shumsky village council of the Volkhov district [9] [10] .

According to 1990, the village of Karpovo was part of the Shumsky village council of the Kirov region [11] .

In 1997, 19 people lived in the village of Karpovo, Shumskaya volost, in 2002 - 21 people (all Russians) [12] [13] .

In 2007, 9 people lived in the village of Karpovo, Shumsky joint venture , in 2010 - 14 [14] [15] .

Geography

The village is located in the eastern part of the district on the highway 41K-122 ( Lavrovo - Shum - Ratnitsa ).

The distance to the administrative center of the settlement is 10 km [15] .

The distance to the nearest Voybokalo railway station is 10 km [9] .

Karpovo is surrounded by agricultural lands of the Shumsky rural settlement [16] .
