The baleen bug [1] ( lat. Ophidion barbatum ) is a species of marine ray-finned fish from the family of bugs (Ophidiidae). Distributed in the East Atlantic from the south coast of England to the shores of Senegal , as well as in the northern part of the Mediterranean Sea. This is a subtropical bottom fish, found at a depth of 150-1456 m. The body length reaches 25.4 cm [2] .
