"Poplar" ( Ukrainian "Poplar" ) is a residential area of the Dnieper . Located in the south of the city. One of the largest massifs of the city. It consists of three parts - "Topol-1", "Topol-2" and "Topol-3".

History
It began to be built in the late 1960s, and was completed in the early 1980s. The project of the detailed street layout of the Topol-1 housing estate was developed by the architect Evsey Alexandrovich Sorin [1] .
On June 6, 1997, as a result of a landslide, a nine-story house, a school, and partly two kindergartens were destroyed [2] [3] [4] [5] . 3650 inhabitants were relocated from the dangerous territory [6] . Housing estate Poplar is known for planting soil [7] . As of 2004, direct losses from landslides amounted to 34 million hryvnia [8] . In 2012, 1.1 million UAH was allocated for the fight against the regional budget by landslides [9] . In 2013, 200 thousand hryvnias were provided for the construction of storm sewers from the city budget [10] .
On the night of August 21, 2018, the illegal market was demolished [11] [12] [13] .
In December 2018, the laying of the first coniferous garden in a housing estate began [14] .
