General information
The name Namiquipa from the Astekian language can be translated as βthe place of herons β [3] .
The area of ββthe municipality is 4860 kmΒ², which is 1.96% of the total state area [4] , and the highest point - 2220 meters, is located in the settlement of Nuevo Namikipa [1] .
It borders with other municipalities of the state of Chihuahua: in the north with Ignacio Zaragoza and Buenaventura , in the east with Chihuahua , in the south with Riva Palacio , Kuautemok , Bachiniva and Guerrero , in the southwest with Matachi , in the west with Temosachik and Gomez Fari .
