Biography
James McBrien was born on June 30, 1878 . He was educated in , Ontario [2] , after which he joined the Canadian police , then was transferred to the Northwest Mounted Police . During the Boer War, he served in the [3] , after returning to Canada he became an officer of the [2] .
During the First World War he was an officer of the General Staff, since 1916 he commanded the 12th Infantry Brigade [3] .
In 1920, McBrien was appointed Chief of the General Staff of the Canadian Police, replacing Arthur Curry [3] . He left the post of chief of the General Staff in 1927.
August 1, 1931 became Royal Canadian Mounted Police , held this post until his death. [2] Died March 5, 1938 in Toronto .
Personal life
James McBrien was married twice. In 1907, he married Nellie Louise Ross ( Eng. Nellie Louise Ross ), and in 1928 - Emily Emely Hartridge ( Eng. Emily Emely Hartridge ) [2] .
