Biography
After receiving secondary education, he entered the monastery of the Congregation of the Holy Spirit. October 28, 1912 was ordained a priest.
On May 2, 1928, Pope Pius XI appointed him the Apostolic Prefect of Ubangi Hari. On December 2, 1937, Pope Pius XI issued the bull Si christiana res, which raised the apostolic prefecture of Ubangi Hari to the rank of apostolic vicariate and appointed Marseille-Auguste-Marie Granden its ordinarium with the title of Bishop Furcas the Great. On January 18, 1938, he was ordained bishop by Bishop Xie Octav-Louis Pasque, accompanied by the titular Bishop of Europus, Louis Le-Yunse, and the titular Bishop of Abila of Lizania, Joseph Shanahan.
On May 28, 1940, Pope Pius XII renamed the Apostolic Vicariate of Ubangi Hari to the Apostolic Vicariate of Bangui and Marseille-Auguste-Marie Granden began to bear the title of Apostolic Vicar of Bangui.
He died on August 4, 1947.
