Church of St. Demetrius ( Serb. Tsrkva Svetog Dimitriјa ) is a church of the Bach diocese of the Serbian Orthodox Church in the former village of Aleksandrovo (now the Subotica quarter, AK Voevodina , Serbia ). The cultural monument of Serbia is of great importance [1] .

History
The settlement of Sandor (Aleksandrovo) was founded by the Serbs from Subotica in 1787. In February 1804, it was officially proclaimed a village. In 1811, the Serbs founded a foundation for the construction of the Orthodox Church. The purchase of building materials began in 1815, and already in 1818, services began in the church [2] .
In 1910, the iconostasis of the Subotica Ascension Church was installed in the church . Nothing is known about how the old temple iconostasis looked and its further fate [2] .
Work on the conservation of the temple was carried out in 1963, 1966, 1969-1970 and 1992-1997 [1] .
Architecture
The temple was erected in accordance with a project typical of Vojvodina churches built before the 1830-1840s. It is a one-nave building in the Baroque style with a semicircular altar apse on the eastern side. Choral apses are externally rectangular, and semicircular inside. Above the main entrance there is an icon of St. Demetrius of Solunsky, the patron saint of the church. In the west, to the left of the entrance, there is a stone cross, which was put by Procopius Rsic and Cyril of Arads in 1852 [2] .
