Biography
Born August 17, 1965 in Bologna, daughter of a lawyer and politician . She graduated with honors from the University of Bologna , then taught and practiced law, specializing in civil and administrative law (her clients included Luciano Pavarotti and his wife Nicoletta Mantovani) [1] .
She was on the board of the foundation, founded by Gianfranco Fini and , and came into politics in 2008. She was elected to the Chamber of Deputies on the list of the National Alliance , which was included in the People of Freedom . In 2010, as the leader of the center - right coalition, she went to the election of the governor of the region Emilia-Romagna , but, having received 36% of the vote, lost the fight to the candidate center-left, a member of the Democratic Party [2] .
On July 27, 2011, she took the ministerial post in the fourth government of Berlusconi without a portfolio of relations with the European Union , which remained vacant since November 2010 after the resignation of Andrea Ronchi [3] , but already on November 16, 2011 the government ceased its authority.
December 18, 2011 Anna Maria Bernini was widowed (her husband, a well-known gynecologist Luciano Bovicelli, with whom she had been married since 2003, died at the age of 76) [4] .
On February 24, 2013, she was first elected to the Italian Senate , and in November of the same year, after the split of the People of Freedom party, she remained with Berlusconi's supporters in the revived Party Forward, Italy .
On November 25, 2013, she was elected deputy leader of the Senate faction, Paolo Romani [5] .
On March 4, 2018, he was re-elected to the Senate from the multi-member district in Bologna on the list “Forward, Italy” [6] .
March 27, 2018 led the party faction in the Senate [7] .
